| As John recollects, this was a trip that began out of Philadelphia, pulled by a PRR K4 with a "horizontal bar pilot" on the Pennsy via Columbia, MD., crossing the river on a railroad bridge that is long gone today, and ended on a Western Maryland branchline train to Gettysburg National Cemetary. That train was powered by a pair of Alco switchers, also known as "hammerheads". While there, John tours the historic Gettysburg battlefield. Later, he records scenes from onboard the WM branchline. The scenes from this trip include the WM portion of that journey. | |||
