We make a stop at Paoli and it affords me a chance to get a couple shots of our train and passengers. Paoli is the western end of commuter territory thus the facilities to service trains. It had a tight turning loop for commuter train sets during the PRR era, later SEPTA closed the yard. |

Paoli Yard had a wye track north of the yard tracks and a "duck under" track west of Paoli shop. Commuter train sets would back from Paoli Yard west past Paoli shop on a track between the shop and #4 main until they cleared a spring switch. they then moved forward, through the" duck under" tunnel under the 4 main tracks and swung to the east and up grade and re joined #1 main track just west of the tower building. SEPTA used the "duck under" right up until Paoli Yard and the "duck under" tunnel is still in place.
