Springtime Comes To The Meadows
The locals called it "Karny", and the Pennsy displayed a sense of humor by actually giving that name to the tower at the entrance of the yard they called Meadows (and the locals called "The Meadows"). Local history aside, its a place John spent many hours at as was the case on a fine May day in 1953, as PRR electrics were serviced here in South Kearny, N.J.
