| After their visit to Chicago and Milwaukee, John and Bill Rosenberg continued their Midwest railfan tour. Leaving Chicago via Greyhound Bus to Springfield, they spent the next morning photographing the last of the Chicago & Illinois Midland steam getting serviced. Diesel fuel tanks have just been installed in the yard, the end of steam on the CIM is near. Afterwards, they went to the Illiois Terminal and photographed their terminal operations before riding the IT to St. Louis. It was the last year of passenger operations on the IT. In the St. Louis area, activity was captured on both sides of the river. | |||
