Reading Steam On The PRSL
John teamed up with his railfan friend Bill Rosenberg to ride and photograph a train out of Philadelphia to Atlantic City on this Saturday, July 24, 1954. They photographed a K4-led PRR commuter train then boarded for the ride out the PRSL to Hammonton, NJ, where they de-boarded and photographed the Reading 4-6-2 commuter steam engines nearing retirement in the yard, simmering alongside the ashpit on a summer Saturday while the PRSL diesels did the Saturday chores, soon to entirely replace the aging fleet.
