Windy City Passenger Trains
John spent time on the south side of Chicago, photographing the intercity and commuter fleets of the CB&Q and Pennsy as they came and went. This was a prelude to a ride on the Pennsy Panhandle to Indianapolis. It also was the last of the spit-shine streamliner era, as the railroads began their de-evolution as passenger carriers in the years after, leading to Amtrak by the next decade. Enjoy the clean and colorful trains while you have them!
