4-6-2 #626 is polished up and ready as the hogger looks on. A product of the WWI era was originally #1626 but renumbered to the 600 class after rebuild. Most served until the early 1950's, the last until 1956. |

These were renumbered by dropping the "1" and retaining the last 3 numbers. This was the 1626 for most of its life. New diesels were numbered in this series starting at 1500 and up. For instance, the "new" diesel taking the number 1626 was a GP-7 built in May 1953. |
