Crossing over Maine Avenue at 14th St. Interlocking, our Baldwin switcher is passing behind the Water St. yard office. The bridge in the foreground, long abandoned but still in place, leads to the Water St. Yard, once the central produce terminal in D.C. The building upper left is the Central Heating Plant which supplies steam for all the Federal Buildings, the other is part the Dept. Of Agriculture complex. |
