A private business car built in 1912 for the CRI&P not owned by the GB&W. The 80017 is it's present number and it is still seen on the rails of America. Gritty Palace is the name on this letterboard. |

Yes, it was a CRI&P business car #98, built in 1912, but was never a part of the GBW roster. The car was sold into private ownership in 1968, at which time the owner put GNW&B in the letterboard (going no where & back). (It had) nothing to do with Green Bay and Western, who at that time owned the business car #600 which had been a private car named "Roamer", built in 1918 for Oklahoma oil baron Joshua Cosden. |
