At Wallace, at the crossing with Rte. 15, you see the tail end of a freight that has just passed. Today this is a lightly-used single track. My friend the late Bill Rosenberg is seen across the road.

The caption needs correction--in 1953 the highway was US 15. The view is looking north/northwest and the train is a westbound. This grade crossing still exists. The overpass mentioned was built about 15+ years after this photo for the Ikeway through here and is located on the curve. Today this is a single-track railroad owned by Steuben County and operated by the B&H Rail Corporation, an affiliate of the LA&L. Great picture.
