A northbound train departs Little Silver, NJ on the NY&LB RR. This photo was underexposed but through the magic of Photoshop we see many things here, including the gas station on the left, and cars waiting at the crossing including a "woody". All of them along with the K4 combine to make a classic early color photo. The location could be Sycamore Avenue. Thanks to William Henderson for the proper location identification. |

I believe this is the Sycamore Ave. crossing in Little Silver. The station is behind the train, which is northbound. |

Does anyone know specifically where in Red Bank this is? For the life of me i can't place it. I have worked in Red Bank for years and can't seem to place any of the landmarks. (Ed: see further comment for location correction) |

The woody is a '49 or '50 Ford, if I'm not mistaken. There are a few '51 Ford wagons on Hemmings right now. Quite pricey, too. |

Is that a traffic cop standing in the intersection? (behind the woody?) |

That is an Esso station. |
