Reefers of the MDT are painted at the Derby shops. MDT was also known as the Merchants Despatch Refrigerated Lines established in 1857, their shops in E. Rochester N.Y. were closed by 1970.

Really nice photo of these cars. The MDT fleet was a very big part of railroading here on Prince Edward Island with the cars showing up during the potato harvests. It's always really cool to see some additional photos of the cars. Thanks for posting this.
