The tail end of the Phoebe Snow tavern-lounge car with it's distinctive marker cants into the curve. This train only had a couple months of service left before discontinuation in November 1966.

By far the most distinctive cars on the luxurious Phoebe Snow were the two square-end tavern-lounge onservations; I well recall seeing the handsome cars at the bumper posts at Hoboken, as the westbound Phoebe Snow awaited her highball.

After the train was discontinued, these cars were sold to the LIRR, where they served for some years as parlor cars.

Today, these classic cars are still in use by Metro-North, now used as inspection cars. The stylish spirit of Miss Snow lives on.
