If doubleheaded out of Grogan Yard on a coal train, the I1sa behind that J would be leading. It's 16 miles upgrade to Lewis Center, where helpers came off (in this period) to back downgrade to Grogan again. But in 1956, more typically, the helper will be another J. Before the J's came on the property (WWII era), the engine going to Sandusky would be an N2sa (USRA heavy 2-10-2).
