A Rock Island football special heads west from Davenport to Iowa City, passing the depot and junction at West Liberty. A sharp eye will notice snow on the roof of the depot.

The to signal was built and located for the BCR&N but, after it became a part of the Rock Island, was turned in place and re-aimed for our E-W main line and all thru trains on Subdivn No. 9 (former BCR&N) were req'd to obtain clearance in both directions. VRP
As a dispatcher I did not look forward to second shift when Notre Dame played at Iowa. (There were) 4 football specials leaving Iowa City after the game. 2 Chicago, 1 Des Moines and 1 Minneapolis.
