This is not between Shenandoah and Hagerstown. The trip that Sunday was a round trip that went north from Roanoke to Shenandoah in the morning and back south to Roanoke in the afternoon. We got back to Roanoke hours late. There was a runby in the morning, northbound. I think it was at Stuarts Draft, which is a bit north of Vesuvius. Vesuvius is at the top of the grade. The watershed there separates the James River drainage basin from the Shenandoah River drainage basin. Stuarts Draft is more on the level, and the tracks are surrounded by fields. |
