CNJ changed over to the green with yellow stripes by 1950 with the delivery of the RS-1s. The F3s, DR-6-4-20 double-enders, DR 4-4-1500 and H-15-44s all came from the factory in the tangerine and blue scheme. They were painted the green/yellow stripes by 1957. The DR-6-4-20 double-enders didn't last long after the Trainmasters showed up in 1956 though. They were all scrapped once the Trainmasters showed up-apparently having been "run into the ground" by the CNJ due being run constantly and not being maintained very well. |

When did the Central change this paint scheme from blue to green with the stripes? Atlas came out with a model of this loco in these colors. (did other CNJ classes of road engine carry blue/stripes?) |

Photo was taken from "RG" tower. Train is moving north (railroad east) and will soon pass over Chestnut St. The freight station is behind train. The track to the far left leads to the remnant of the Raritan & Delaware Bay, the original railroad through Red Bank. In 1954 it stopped just short of Riverside Ave. (Route 35). |
