This longer train could be the weekend only Neptune, which left NYC at the end of the workday Friday night and returned Sunday evening. The FL-9 locomotives ran through to Hyannis from either New Haven or NY. I never saw FL-9's on the Woods Hole Branch, which was usually served by Alco RS-3's. The Neptune, like the day Cape Codder had coaches, parlor car & either a dining car or grill car.
